It’s no secret that with all the incomings, there also has to be some outgoings at Rangers. The club are spending big this summer and definitely need to recruit some of that back. So, who’s next out the door at Ibrox? Let’s look at some options.
James Tavernier
This article suggested that the Rangers captain could be a target for old boss Steven Gerrard. Apparently though, no contact has been made to the club or his agent, yet.
The two seemed to have a strong bond when together at Ibrox. Add in to the fact Tavernier was superb under Gerrard and there’s maybe a case for a deal.
As always, his numbers were ridiculous last season. Is he irreplaceable? Or should he be sold for the right bid?

Antonio Colak
There were reports that the Croatian was targeted in January but nothing came of it. Reports are now surfacing again that there’s interest from Germany. Werder Bremen have been named as one of those sides.
With the signings of Lammers, Sima and the inevitable arrival of Dessers, it’s unclear where Colak is in the pecking order. He turns 30 this year and presumably wouldn’t be happy sitting on the bench.
He had a great debut season for Rangers. Minus the injuries. He scored 14 goals in 25 appearances 18 starts. Averaging 57mins per game and a goal every 102 minutes.
Those averages work out better than a goal every other appearance. It may be harsh to sell him, but if Rangers can’t guarantee first team football and a move to the Germany is on the cards, can the club and player turn that down?
Would you be happy with selling Colak? How much would you expect for him? If Rangers can make the £2m spent back, then that’s a good deal, in my opinion.

Scott Wright
It had seemed certain that Scott Wright was on his way to Preston. However, on June 19th Lancs.live posted an article claiming a fee couldn’t be agreed and Preston were pulling out of the deal. All remained quiet on his future until a couple of days ago.
What seemed like reports from a fake Twitter account were then also published by footballinsider and the Daily Record. Have both sources fallen for a fake rumour, or is there truly something in this?
The 25-year-old only managed 5 SPFL starts last season, averaging 28 minutes per game over 23 total appearances. His contract is up until 2025 so now could be the perfect time to cash in before it starts to dwindle down.
The rumoured fee is around £2m, which would be good profit considering Rangers paid around £200k to get him out of his Aberdeen contract early. It will definitely be interesting to see if this one actually happens.
£2m for a fringe player with even less chance of playing in the upcoming season would be excellent business. Steven Gerrard does owe us one after all..
How would you feel about this deal?
Conclusion
James Tavernier seems the least likely of these deals but I wouldn’t be surprised if both Colak and Wright left in this window. For Tavernier to go, Rangers must be looking at a minimum of £10m to replace the captain and goal contribution machine.
If Rangers can sell Colak and Wright while bringing in around £4m for them combined that would be excellent business. Would also be funds that would pay most of the reported £5m asking price for Feyenord’s Danilo?
Who, of these three, would you like to see leave this summer? How much would you be expecting to get in return for them?
