This could well prove to be a very exciting week to be a Rangers fan. Reports from various sources suggest the club could be close to sealing four signings. Chris Jack has been at the forefront of recent exclusive updates and it’s been a busy week for him! Some signings look to be closer than others but it’s fully expected there will be AT LEAST one new face through the door at Ibrox this week. Let’s look at the latest potential Rangers transfers.
Sam Lammers
This one seems to be the closest to getting over the line. In his latest transfer update Chris Jack had this to say;
Sam Lammers is poised to clinch a four-year deal with Rangers to become Michael Beale’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window.
We revealed on Friday that Lammers was close to putting pen-to-paper after negotiations with Atalanta over a package worth more than £3million.
Lammers is now set to arrive in Glasgow in the coming days to finalise a contract until 2027 and follow Kieran Dowell, Dujon Sterling and Jack Butland into Ibrox this summer.

Depending on how you feel about the 26-year-old Dutchmen, you’ll either be excited or exasperated by this news. If you want to read a breakdown of what he can provide the team, it can be found here. Check the clip below to see what he is capable of when on form.
Cyriel Dessers and Jose Cifuentes
In the same article Jack mentioned that Rangers are still working on deals for Dessers and Cifuentes. According to reports in Italy, a deal between Cremonese and Rangers has been agreed for the former. The 28-year-old Nigerian is also said to be keen on a move to Ibrox. The article states that he had no interest in staying in Lombardy to ply his trade in Serie B. The transfer fee has been questioned by fans but he comes in as a player with Serie A experience and the season before was the top goal scorer in the Europa Conference League. He has good pedigree and a good record everywhere he’s played.

The Cifuentes situation is a bit more complicated. He can’t freely speak to other clubs until July 1st due to his contract expiring in December. Previous reports have suggested the player is keen on the move and terms with him shouldn’t be an issue. If Rangers want the player this summer though, they’ll have to pay up and that’s where the issue lies. LAFC are keen to sell now to avoid losing the Ecuadorian for nothing.
He is a player that fans are really keen on seeing at Rangers. A 24-year-old all-round number eight from South America, that’s previously been linked to the likes of Brighton and Leeds. It’s hard not to be excited by that type of profile! He may not come through the door this week but all signs point to him being a Rangers player in the near future.
Jonathan Panzo
The Daily Record broke the story on Saturday evening that Rangers were closing in on the £2.5m transfer of the 22-year-old Nottingham Forest defender. The article made out the transfer was nearing completion, however Chris Jack state that he believed the transfer wasn’t ‘imminent’. This one seemed to be moving very quickly at the weekend but now it seems like it may not be concluded this week.
Another player who can play in multiple positions, he adds extra versality to a defence that has already added Dujon Sterling this summer. £2.5m could be a bargain for a player with a lot of experience at a young age. Beale knows him from their time at the Chelsea academy so he knows exactly the type of player he’s getting.
Conclusion
Of these four deals, only Sam Lammers seems guaranteed to be included this week. Dessers and Cifuentes seem to be moving along nicely with some issues left to be ironed out. The Panzo deal doesn’t seem as far along as the Daily Record led us to believe at the weekend. Rangers are close to sealing four more transfers, with three already confirmed so far.
Who are you most excited for of these potential Rangers transfers? Who do you think can have the biggest impact at Ibrox?
