Nineteen year old Ure made his first start for Rangers this season against QOS in the League Cup and managed to pick up a goal. He hasn’t been seen around the first team much after that though but is still very highly thought of at Ibrox.
He impressed on his debut and scored a tidy goal but he showed a rawness in that performance which indicated he, perhaps, wasn’t ready for SPFL action.
His finishing ability and positioning can’t be called into question, he’s shown that in the Lowland League and in his only start for the first team. The weakness he showed in that game was his ability to hold the ball up and link up the play with his team mates. Those points are easier to work on than finishing and positioning though, which is encouraging.
He has produced good numbers for the B team this season;
- 30 Appearances
- 16 Goals
- 8 Assists
His assist numbers suggest he’s been working on his link up play, which is promising for his future.
With the title race being over and Rangers massively in the need for reinforcements up top, should he be given a chance to show what he can do?
