Reports yesterday from the Daily Record suggested that Feyenord forward Danilo is ‘desperate’ for a move to Ibrox. The 24-year-old Brazilian has apparently told Feyenord officials that he wants to join Rangers.
How Close is Danilo to Rangers?
According to the report mentioned above, after failing down the pecking order, Danilo has decided to wants to move. With Rangers being his preferred choice currently. The article states;
And Danilo has now decided that Rangers is the place for him and informed the Dutch side of that over the weekend but the clubs will still have to agree on a fee to make that a reality.
Gavin Berry for The Daily Record
Rangers had a supposed bid of around £3.5m rejected as Feyenord are looking for closer to £5m.
Michael Beale has already invested heavily in Rangers front line. Sam Lammers has been added and Cyriel Dessers is set to be confirmed this week;
Adding Danilo would be an exceptional piece of business. It’s one of the few rumours this summer that has united fans with excitement.
In a late update last night, Chris Jack had this to say on the move;

Why Does Danilo Want to Leave Feyenord?
Unfortunately for the Brazilian, he became 2nd choice to Santiago Gimenez following his impressive form since arriving from Mexico. The report actually suggests he could be third choice under Arne Slot next season.
It’s as simple as that really. He wants first team football. Something that he is sure to get at Rangers in the new, exciting looking attack.
How would you feel about a potential attack including the likes of Lammers, Sima, Dessers and Danilo? Exciting times could be on the horizon!
Conclusion
I’ve said this multiple times before, Danilo really excites me. Unfortunately, the latest update makes it seem like this one may drag on.
The imminent arrival of Cyriel Dessers seems to have slowed this one right down. Hopefully it’s just a case of Rangers wanted a few outgoings before going back in. This is one that had excited fans and would be disappointing if it was over.
It looks like we’ll just need to wait and see what happens in the coming days.
